Web Guidelines - Templates
As part of the March 2002 Web redesign, templates were created for Web publishers. These guidelines were prepared to assist publishers in using those templates and in professionally and consistently representing The University of Texas at Austin on the Web.
There are two sets of templates:
- Full UT Templates (Second Level Templates, require UT EID) are the templates used for sites linked off of the home page. This page is an example of a Full UT template. The Full UT templates should be used for sites that have an institutional scope beyond a single department. for example, administrative offices that serve the entire campus. We do not recommend the Full UT templates for individual colleges and departments on campus. Also, do not modify the full UT templates or attempt to mimic them. Please use the template as is, or use the Minimal UT Template described below.
- Minimal UT Template (Third Level Templates, requires UT EID) simply have a common header, with The University of Texas at Austin wordmark and the Tower image, and a common footer with some navigation. These templates are more flexible and are recommended for colleges and departments on campus.
We discourage you from creating sites that use the identical look and layout of the UT Home page (www.utexas.edu). The University's home page should be distinct. The templates were created to be consistent with the home page, but different enough to keep the home page distinct.
If you have questions about the templates, contact us at www@www.utexas.edu.
If you are not publishing from Web Central but would like to use
the templates, please make an appointment with a TeamWeb consultant.
